Antique Welmar Tray of Germany in Holly
The backstamp reads Weimar, Germany. This is the C. & E. Carstens Porcelain Factory Blankenhain, in what was then Blankenhain, Thuringa, East Germany.
Circa 1918 – 1945, but it certainly has a late 10's or early 20's look and feel to it.
The pattern is a soft hand painted green background with holly leaves and large red berries.
The platter seems to be too small for a celery tray... but too large for a relish tray... we've used it for olives, and other types of garnish... even fruit cake. YES... we LOVE fruitcake!
Measures 9-1/2" long, 4-1/4" wide and 1-1/4" tall.
No Chips, cracks, or scratches but there are 4 of the smallest nicks on the back which aren't noticeable at all from the front.
Extremely minimal wear to the gold.
